I have surgery scheduled for next week but

I have surgery scheduled for next week but I’m on the fence now and I’m considering canceling. . My goals are to hypertrophy and aesthetics. I’m attaching the mri report .

Tear of the pectoralis major myotendinous junction mostly sternal head at the deltoid pectoral groove leaving a stump namely the falciform ligament in the brachium. Minor involvement of the clavicular head. Sparing of the abdominal head.
2. Intact pectoralis minor tendon at the coracoid process.

I don’t really see any obvious deformity but I’m worried that it may get worse.

Would really appreciate some input here.

  • Mostly the sternal head of the pec major
  • At the myotendinous junction — where muscle transitions into tendon
  • Near the deltopectoral groove / upper arm area
  • Minor involvement of the clavicular head
  • Abdominal head spared
  • Pec minor intact
  • Rotator cuff, labrum, biceps tendon, AC joint all look fine

I am due for a second and third opinion this Thursday but in the meantime, based on everyone's experience. What are the chances this is going to require surgery? This injury happened on April 17th. There was a lot of bruising on my left arm when this happened and now for the most part, it has faded. There are no real visible deformities, at least not to the trained eye but i'm worried about potential issues down the line such as weakness. I appreciate everyone's responses in advance.
