I need help negotiating terms of lease on retail premises.
I’m currently negotiating a lease on a retail premises. The landlord has outlined some terms including that the lease must go in my personal name, not a limited company. I have been strongly advised not to agree to this which I think is sound advice.
Is this a fairly common request from the landlord?
What are the risks to the landlord if the lease is with a Ltd co?
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions of how to negotiate to a position we are both happy with?
He has also requested that I pay for preparation of lease and cover his costs… seems a bit unreasonable given that I will also have my own costs!?
