Possible Bug: My RRSP Contributions Reflected in Spouse’s Spousal RRSP/RRIF Balance
Hi everyone — I’m new to Reddit and also new to this Adviice community, so hopefully I’m posting this in the right place.
I just signed up with Adviice and it has been an amazing tool to map out our retirement roadmap.
In reviewing the detailed summary, I noticed what may be an issue with how balances are being calculated/displayed.
Under Planning → Summary, in the Estimated Year End Account Balance, my spouse’s Spousal RRSP or RRIF balance appears to include the amount I entered under my contribution:
Discovery → Assets → RRSP/TFSA Contribution Room → “RRSP Contributions Made Since Jan 1st”
The contribution amount entered I would think would be added to my RRSP/RRIF, but it seems to be getting added to my spouse’s Spousal RRSP/RRIF balance.
Just wondering if this is expected behaviour (tax planning?), a display issue, or potentially a bug.
