Canvas and Finals

Just out of curiosity, with canvas being down for two days for me with finals looming (like a dark cloud of despair) did any of you get extensions on finals? Or had them cancelled completely?

I did not get any extensions or anything. But I'm just curious on how yalls school is handling it.

bc from this side of the fence the only thing ShinyHunters did was waste my time lmao.

Realistically, what is your alls opinion on the lottery system some schools use?

Personally, I just found out about it for the Fall semester. I had switched majors, and ended up taking the rest of my prereqs in one semester (21 credits 😮‍💨) to be able to apply.

I gotta say— I'm a bit upset, considering I ran myself into the ground for my TEAS and to maintain straight As in all the classes. Just to find out all I had to do was hit the minimum requirements.

I'm not familiar with how the lottery system works but, why even encourage people to get A's if it doesn't matter anyways?

Sorry if this was a rant, I'm just a little (a lot) miffed about finding this out. I know it's to give everyone a fair chance, but I feel like we were all given a fair chance when we decide how much effort and time to put into our studies.

EDIT: my school has 0 to no mention of any points system, and literally says "if the total number of qualified applicants surpasses the allotted seats, a digital random number lottery system will be utilized."
