I’m looking to lose weight and tone up… yes, I know, so is everyone else 😅
Anyway, I’m F 39, 5’2, and around 158 lbs. I’m not new to working out at all, but I took over a year off and gained a lot of weight during that time. Now I have pretty bad anxiety around getting back into fitness, which honestly feels harder mentally than physically.
I’m looking for a program I can actually stick to without feeling horrible about myself in the process. I have access to a gym and equipment, so that part isn’t really the issue. I’d rather focus more on strength training than going fully into Pilates-only workouts, though I’m open to incorporating Pilates because I know my core strength is basically nonexistent right now.
That’s actually one of the biggest things intimidating me. I know I need to strengthen my core, but I also know myself well enough to realize that if I jump into something super intense and leave every workout feeling defeated, I’ll probably quit. I’m trying to find that balance where I’m challenged, but not crushed mentally while rebuilding consistency and confidence.
What program would you recommend? Define? Evolve? Any others?
