my first (successful) poke!
my first true attempt (before this one) i ended up not poking deep enough so nothing stuck. i’m so happy this one turned out okay! :) i can’t wait to touch it up a little bit after it’s healed.

hi, wanted to see if anyone here has had a similar experience or issue.
I went to go ride my bike one morning and I was able to unlock the handlebars, but the key refused to go into the on position. i spent probably an hour trying to get it to turn using little tips i found across the internet. putting a little bit of ignition cylinder oil, tapping the cylinder, even some weird trick that someone said to use graphite shavings from a NO.2 pencil.
my bike has about 8k miles and it sat for maybe 3 weeks before this happened. it’s always parked in a covered spot, and no one has seemingly tried to jam a flathead in or anything. i have however noticed that in the past few hundred miles or so it’s been a little bit stiff going into the on position.
does anyone have any recommendations as to what could work or what’s going on before i take it to the dealership?
tl:dr key will unlock handlebars but will not go into on position
