I need advice :(

I started taking 150 mg bupropion, and at the three week mark, I developed intense itchiness on my scalp and chest. If I scratched, it would leave red marks and eventually hive-looking bumps. I immediately stopped the medication thinking it was an allergy, considering I had trial citalopram in the past, and immediately developed a rash on my legs. A few days after that, I developed epigastric pain. A week later I was finally able to see my doctor and said it was a delayed reaction. After a few days he told me to restart the medication but take with cetirizine 20 mg (at that point the medication was stopped for about 11 days but no change on symptoms). The allergy med helped the itchiness through the day, however the epigastric pain became debilitating.

I have given it another 7 to 8 days, but I can’t handle the pain anymore. It’s odd because it comes and goes, sometimes better with food, sometimes worse, which is making me wonder if I have an ulcer, but my doctor doesn’t seem to know what to do with me. I don’t like having the choice up to myself not knowing exactly what I’m doing to my body. Yesterday was a good day, no pain whatsoever, but here I am again in agonizing pain not sure what to do.

Has anyone else had a similar reaction? Does it eventually get better after a few weeks / does the body adjust, or do you need to stop the medication altogether?

Ironic, an antidepressant has left me even more dejected, I’m barely getting through the day, and gaining weight rapidly because I can’t leave my bed some days.

PS- I trialed Citalopram years and years ago and developed a rash. Immediately stopped and it went away.
