Our baby is 14M tomorrow.

Here’s our situation:
- we sleep trained him using the chair method just before he reached 12M. We have a short routine, and then I sat in chair until he fell asleep, regardless of crying. He started sleeping through the night in just a few days.
- we were doing approx 3/3/4 during the day (2 naps). Something like 10AM nap and 2:30P nap, with bedtime at 7:30P and wake up around 6:30A.
- one confounding factor: his crib is in our room, and our bed creaks. We have a divider screen so he can’t see us.
- he had a very shrill cry that is tough to stand more than a few minutes when we’re in the same room as him
- starting a couple weeks ago, he started waking up between 5-5:30, making us sit in chair for an hour. Then it became two wakeups a night - with the first around 2A. If there is an early wake up, we’d just do diaper change, song, magic phrase and he would go straight to tummy and sleep.
- since he’s almost 14M now, we moved him to one nap this week, around 11AM. He napped 1.5 hours the first day, and he slept through the night when we put him down around 6:45P, waking up at 5:45A! But the last three days have been tough again. His naps have been getting longer (first 2 hours, then 3 hours the last two days). And he’s gone back to waking twice a night, around 2A and waking up for good by 5:30A.
- this past night, he slept at 7:16P, woke up at 4:27A. I laid in bed as he calmed and went to his tummy on his own. But 25 mins later, he was crying loudly. I waited a few mins and then reset him by doing a diaper change, song, magic phrase. But he the proceeded to cry at my for over 40 minutes very loudly as I sat in chair. He finally went to bed nearly 85 mins after he first woke up. And here I am sitting in the chair still wondering what to do.
- I’ll also note that at the 5:30A wake days, I take him to the living room, and he’ll pretty quickly clamor for milk.

What should we try next?
