Cannon short tour

I’m currently at cannon (PCSing soon 🙏🏻) a few high ranking members have told us that over the years that they are looking into cannon becoming a short tour with a follow on. If that did happen do you think they could get more people here? In the future I’d gladly come back for a year if I received a follow on after. Imo something that makes cannon worse is the amount of new airman straight from tech school vs the amount of NCOs. My first year here we didn’t have an NCO in our office with a senior airman being the highest ranking member. We had a master who was who was filling in a seniors spot and also playing the role as our section chief. He was retiring soon, overworked and had just came from Japan. He definitely wasn’t as focused on our shop as he should of been and I don’t blame him

I am leaving Rome May 16 the last day of the . I am flying to the US with American Airlines on that day. Will I be affected at all? My main concern is getting to the airport. As based on what I’ve read it doesn’t seem the airport will really be affected. I’ve never been during a strike. What all can I expect? Will I be able to get a rideshare or a taxi or take the train to the airport Easily?

I also land in Rome on May 11 the day of the aviation strike from the US. Again based on what I have read, does it seem like international trips will be affected too much. I don’t have anything planned on the 11th so I’m not too concerned about it if I’m delayed at all on the 11th not too big of a deal. But still not sure what I should expect.
