When I set up an appointment with the gyno what should I say?

I'm 33 years old and live in Canada Ontario. I haven't set up an appointment yet to discuss getting a hysterectomy. I want to be sure that I am prepared and know what to say if I am able to set up an appointment. I have been thinking about it for a while. I always have had heavy periods, leaving me feeling exhausted. I tried iron pills, but felt no difference.

I have a condition known as neurofibromatosis type 1. It is a mutation in the nf1 gene. Because of this I have a loss of neurofibromin protein that suppresses cell overgrowth. Basically benign tumors that grow in and on my body.

I never want kids. If I did get pregnant it could be deadly for me and I would have a 50% chance of passing it on.

I know that birth control does have progesterone in it. That hormone is known to fuel tumor growth. Even low dose birth control makes me uncomfortable. I don't feel comfortable with an IUD either, as I don't want it to be something I will have to worry about in about 5-10 years getting replaced. I heard that it also contains progesterone.

I am interested in getting a total hysterectomy, but leaving the overies. Also are there any expenses that Ohip wouldn't cover?

I drew Legoshi in Tomodachi life. Gonna give it a try with the other characters.
