First timer here... and it shows. Wanted to sand put the rough edges (320 grit) and feel like I made it way worse with the sanding marks. How do I go from here?

Backed my van into a small stone statue, and a big chip of paint fell off the rear bumper. It was quite thick, there is a noticeable height difference between the damaged spot and the surrounding red paint.

I was thinking to sand the edges down, apply primer, base coat and clear coat. I have the paint codes and can get touch up pens for those.
