I need to get it off my chest. I really enjoy End Of Summer, and to really set people off, I think it’s my favorite song off the record 🤣
I know it was a major 180 of anything tame impala has released previously, but I think the song is amazing! In some ways I feel the song shows off all of Kevin’s style put into one song, and to me that’s really cool!
I remember the day I that it hit for me, it was maybe a couple weeks after the video dropped and I was cleaning my house while I was waiting for my new couch to get delivered. I have this huge speaker that I put into the corner of my living room, the sun was out that day and the sky was clear, I was drinking my coffee and getting that caffeine buzz while listening to the song and something about playing it loud while the sounds bounced around my house just felt so good. On the start of last half of the song it goes more towards its synth heavy tech sound, it filled my house with that sound and It felt so levitating and soothing to me. It’s hard to put to words about how I was feeling, but all I know is that song is so much more beautiful that I feel like people are willing to admit. If you have the chance, play the song loud and just let the synth take over!
