One month post op update! I had djs on April 1st and it’s been a month. This was by far the most pain I have ever felt in my entire life. I was in excruciating pain for the first week, lost 13 lbs, mentally defeated and overall MISERABLE. Day 7 I turned the corner for the better and all has been bearable since. I spent 4 days in the hospital as pain was unmanageable/ wasn’t eating/ drinking due to pain.

However I am breathing through my nose for the first time in my life, sleeping through the night without sleep apnea and my appearance is totally different! I’m looking forward to the health benefits of this surgery and seeing how my life will change. My face is still numb on the lower part mostly in the chin and inside my mouth. Looking in the mirror I feel like a totally different person. In the XRAY you can see how small my airway is and how open it is now! I am breathing much much better.

Now I’m just scared for the medical bills lol. If you are getting this surgery please get books, plan to ask friends to visit ahead of time, ask for help, and the emotional roller coaster hasn’t ended after a month so I’ll let you know on that lol. Slowly getting more movement in my face but over all I’m happy with the results I just wish it wasn’t so freaking painful and miserable.
