I have a pair of ULT WH 900N headphones that are viable for the free repair program. At least according to the check on Sony's website.
I've seen people comment on how much sturdier their headphones feel after the repair but mine also feel / felt really sturdy. They've lasted me 2 years, until one day when the right hinge suddenly broke in the car when hitting a speedbump (I was sitting in the backseat at the time, just holding them in my hand.)
I saw another post comparing the old and new hinge but my "old" hinge looks identical to their new and repaired hinge, and they don't showcase the hinge above the damaged part on the old broken headphones.
Does anyone know how the new hinge is designed aside from "better hinge", or "better quality"?
Asking cause if the repair doesn't replace the hinge with a longer lasting one, then I might as well just DIY it myself. (I have a cool sticker I don't want to loose.)
