Reading all the “why do we have to call our parents?” posts got me thinking.

I actually call my mom almost every Sunday, but not because anyone demands it. It’s just burned into my brain from childhood. Sundays were always the “call family” day.

I remember adults talking on the phone while football was on, someone cooking, somebody yelling about long distance charges, giant phone cords wrapped around furniture.

Funny how some habits survive every technology change.
