Suspicious macOS password popup, is this malware?
Hi everyone,
I got this popup on my Mac that says:
“Security verification is required to continue using your Mac. Please enter your password.”
The window title says System Preferences, and it asks for my password with Cancel and OK buttons.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this a legitimate macOS prompt, or could it be malware trying to steal my password?
What should I check to figure out which process/app created this popup?
