A WBC mode has been added to the latest instalment of ‘Power Pro’, and the stats for some real-life players have been revealed

It’s all in Japanese, so I’ll share the translation here.

By the way, I’m a Japanese guy who didn’t get into uni, so my English isn’t great—please bear with me

Batter’s Abilities

① Trajectory

1 is the lowest and 4 is the highest.

The higher the value, the higher the ball flies, making home runs more likely but also increasing the chance of a fly ball; the lower the value, the more likely a ground-ball hit.

② to ⑧

1 is the lowest and 100 is the highest

② Contact

The higher this is, the easier it is to get a hit. In recent Power Pro games, ratings of A or higher are rarely seen due to game balance considerations.

③ Power

The higher this is, the further and with greater force the ball will fly.

④Speed

The higher this is, the faster you can round the bases

It increases your acceleration when fielding

⑤ Arm strength

The higher this is, the faster you can throw to the bases

⑥ Defensive ability

If this is high, there is no delay in your defence; you can move to catch the ball more quickly and throw to the bases faster

⑦ Fielding ability

The higher this is, the fewer errors you make

⑧ to ⑭

G is the lowest, A is the highest

⑧ Chance

If high, contact improves; if low, it worsens

⑨ Left-handed pitchers

If high, advantageous against left-handed pitchers; if low, disadvantageous

⑩ Injury Resistance

A high value means you are less prone to injury

⑪ Stealing Bases

A high value means you break for the base faster

⑫ Base Running

A high value means you run the bases faster

⑬ Throwing

A high value means you can throw accurately to the base

⑭ Recovery

A high value means fatigue is recovered quickly

If fatigue builds up, the risk of injury increases and your form is more likely to decline

Also, each player has other special abilities, so I’ll explain them if you’d like (though they might be asleep due to the time difference).

This has gone on a bit, so I’ll just introduce the fielders.

A Aaron Judge

B Chisholm Jr.

C Cole Carrigg

D Vincent Pasquantino

E Tim Kennelly

F Xander Jan Bogaerts

G Chen Chieh-Hsien

H Guerrero Ramos Jr.

I Christian Bethancourt

J Acuña Blanco Jr.

K Randy Arozarena

L Moon, Bo-Gyeong

M Shota Morishita

Reactions from Japanese fans range from delight that the feature has been implemented to criticism that it lacks realism, given that the standard of fielders and pitchers differs between MLB and other leagues, yet there is not such a significant gap in the abilities of MLB players and those from other leagues.

Also, as I don’t use Reddit very often, this post might be against the rules.

If so, please let me know; I’ll make sure to follow the rules from now on.
