I’m looking at the Lafayette148 website and everything is insanely expensive- $800 for a button down shirt, $1000 for a cardigan. Meanwhile, there are thousands of Lafayette items on Thredup for quite cheap. Are people really buying that many clothes from Lafayette at those high prices? And why is the resale value so low- is there a diffusion brand? Or a quality issue? Are these actually TJ maxx items?

There’s a couple of brands like this (Reiss off the top of my head) where I’m baffled about how the resale market is flooded with these supposedly expensive and niche brands. Who the heck can afford these brand new?
