Tough lesson on my Aprilia Tuono 457
Hit a bad patch on the road last night and ended up with a punctured front tyre + what looks like a cracked front rim (pic attached). I was around 18 km away from home, late at night in a rural area, and couldn’t find transport, so it turned into a whole mess.
Bike is at the service centre now. Insurance claim (National Insurance) has already been filed, estimate submitted, and parts are in stock. Waiting for the surveyor to be assigned because of the holiday.
A few things I wanted to ask:
-Has anyone had similar rim damage on a new bike?
-Did insurance cover it under own-damage?
-Any tips to speed up the survey/claim approval process? (Follow-ups, documents, things to avoid delaying)
Feels terrible damaging the bike before even the first service. Expensive lesson learned.
