I know the public schools in WCSD are good. Everyone always says you’d be crazy to pay for private living here. But I don’t want solely saving money to be the main motivation in school choice. What are some reasons you would choose public over private?
We are not religious so religion is also not a factor in this decision. I see non-religious private schools offering multiple languages, mindfulness classes, and STEM as part of the curriculum. A concern with public is that art, music and STEM programs are usually stripped if funds are low. Class sizes are another concern, my kid is very shy and I worry of falling through the cracks in a big class.
In case I’m overthinking and my kid would in fact be better off in public, can someone provide insight?
We are zoned for Indian Valley and Walnut Creek Intermediate.
