have been having issues with my heel and ankle for a few years. In the distant past (currently 67f) I sprained my ankle after getting my foot stuck in the stirrup (horse) probably stuck 2 or 3 bucks. Took a while to heal. But not issues until about 35 years later. 20 of those years heavy lifting and walk on concrete. (Think running a saw in a fabrication shop and a steel company.)
I started having ankle pain. Everything worked until stopped and the ankle cooled down then stabbing pain outer ankle (near original injury). gives out a little till I gimp a few steps and theres still pain. Boots make it worse.
Then heel pain started to the touch as well, not plantar fascitis. Pain in the heel, lower back of the heel no pain. Ankle hurts off and on as well can’t tie boots. Tried a pair of Keen tennis shoes. Pain gone.
3 months later pain back. Bad.
I had PT for shoulder pain, mention heel pain, he thought pain was at insertion point. Didn’t recommend exercise because it was at insertion point. My I have done heel calf stretches since 1985 because of riding horses then just habit. I walk/stand on gravel 8 to 10+ hours 5 or so days a week. I currently run a nursery (plants). A lot less body pain. I also walk my dog 1 to 2 miles daily, hiking trails or sidewalks wi hills
During a yearly checkup Dr offered an xray. No exam. Three views. Came back with diagnosis of Sever’s disease. Ummm.
I‘m past growth spurts.
Tried Chaco clogs. They feel supportive. But the strap puts pressure on the tendon. Even just loose. Nope.
Birkenstocks cured plantar fasciitis 25 years ago. I was hoping the Chacos would work because they would be better for watering. Any suggestions?
(If you made it this far.)
