I’m 23F, recently graduated with a bachelor’s + postgrad degree in Clinical Psychology, but I realized during college that I don’t want to build a career as a therapist/clinical psychologist.

During college, I did multiple HR internships and even received a full-time offer for a People Ops Executive role. I turned it down because the work environment didn’t feel right, but I genuinely enjoyed the work itself.

For the past month, I’ve been working with my father in his railway contracting business. I’ve helped build HR policies, oversee salary and admin processes, and now I’m creating project tracking dashboards to improve operational visibility across projects. I’ll also eventually learn project costing and administration.

The issue is: I’m confused about whether I should continue building within the family business or move out, work independently, and explore roles that feel more aligned with me. I’ve never lived outside home, and I do want that experience too.

Right now I’m also doing a UX Design course because I’m interested in human behaviour + systems + problem-solving. Long term, I think I’d enjoy roles in:

* Strategy & Operations
* Project Management
* UX Research / Behavioural Research
* Behavioural Analytics (especially in AI/product spaces)
* People Operations

My question is:
What kind of entry-level roles or companies would realistically hire someone with my background? And how would you position this experience without looking “all over the place”? Is there any other course i should opt for? Please help me out!

Would really appreciate advice from people who transitioned from psychology/non-tech backgrounds into ops, strategy, UX, or behavioural/product roles.
