Ive recently joined the marketing team of a AI led SaaS/software company that sells into GCs and TCs and Owners. ( im not naming the company nor am i promoting it. just setting some context before i go into my question). we are pretty small company that sells into the US but only our sales team sits in the USA. while dev, ops, marketing etc. dont.

now while i have nearly a decade worth of experience as a SaaS marketer, i usually learn about the domain of my new job online, since all my previous work ex was marketing to white collar professionals. Information for me to understand my audience was therefore easy for me to get.

but ive noticed that that kind of specific info is very hard for me to get online for the construction industry especially the GCs.

I wanted ur help with 2 things

  1. how can i learn more about my Ideal Customer Profile ( ICP) of general contractors aka u guys?

  2. What kind of marketing do u resonate with and more importantly which channels do u guys use to usually learn about software and tools that can make ur job easier?

I have no intention of answering any questions about my company since it would be violating the rules of the sub. and my company has already raised 8 figures of funding with 7 fig of revenue so the product market fit does exist. i already do get some intel from shadowing sales calls but i feel its not enough for me as a newbie. Im just trying to do better in my new job and therefore would love some help and kindness from u all pls wrt my questions.
