Hey all,
I’m trying to diagnose a stability issue on my 2018 Tesla Model S 75D (USA), and I’ve already ruled out most of the common stuff, so I’m a bit stuck.
Symptoms:
- At highway speeds, on uneven road the car feels unstable / sways side-to-side. No vibrations or pulling on either side.
- Doesn’t feel planted, only happens at high speed, even on a slightly bumpy road
- Feels like “floating” slightly
- No clunks, noises
What I’ve already checked/done:
- All suspension bushings inspected → no visible wear/cracks
- No play in any wheel (checked in all directions)
- Tires ~80% life remaining
- Wheels balanced recently
- Switched to OEM 19" Slipstream wheels
- Replaced the rear control arm links
- Full alignment at Tesla Service Center
At this point, I don’t want to just start throwing parts at it blindly. I have already spent over $1500 trying to fix this issue.
If anyone has dealt with something similar or has ideas on what to check next, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks!
