Chronic KP/Folliculitus that doesn’t improve or go away? Help/Tips

This is honestly really embarrassing to post, but I’m at the point where I’m desperate for advice. I’ve had this skin condition since childhood (first noticed it around age 10, and it became severe/unmanageable by 12–13). It wasn’t until I was about 18 that I was finally diagnosed with Keratosis Pilaris.

I have it on my upper arms, chest, and entire back, along with a lot of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation/scarring. I’ve tried what feels like everything at this point: lactic acid, urea, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and multiple other topical treatments. A previous dermatologist also prescribed isotretinoin (Accutane). It helped my face significantly, but didn’t really improve my body skin much.

I’m wondering if anyone with severe KP and hyperpigmentation has found something that genuinely made a drastic difference, especially long term. I’m currently holding off on seeing another dermatologist because it’s extremely expensive, and treatment is rarely covered by insurance.

Any advice, routines, products, or experiences would genuinely mean a lot.
