Hi everyone,

I can't believe that I am actually writing this post right now. I wanted to share some good news and also say thank you to this subreddit. My EB2 NIW I-140 was approved today (yes, on a Saturday morning) by the Nebraska Service Center under PP.

Timeline:

  • PD: March 5, 2026
  • PP submitted: March 19, 2026 (I did it online and I suggest you all do it online it was insanely easy)
  • PP I-907 received: March 19, 2026
  • I-140 Approval Date: May 2, 2026
  • Service Center: Nebraska

Profile:

  • PhD from R1 US university
  • TT professor at R2 US university
  • 25 publications at the time of filing
  • 400 citations at the time of filing
  • 60+ peer reviews
  • No letters
  • No awards

I filed with Chen. A lot of people say their work can feel cookie-cutter, which is true to some extent. It took roughly 9 revisions to get my PE framed properly. I have somewhat of a dual expertise in overlapping areas, and they helped frame it as a dual-thrust combined PE, which apparently was the right direction for my case. They also did a phenomenal job checking the hundreds of pages of exhibits I sent them. They caught several things that I had completely missed.

This subreddit has helped me so much while I was waiting and preparing, especially with feeling less alone during the process. I know every case is different, but seeing other posts really helped me stay sane, so I wanted to contribute my data point too.

I'm also grateful to the user who made an entire thread on the online PP submission system. It was the final push I needed to bite the bullet and pay the 3k.

Thanks again to everyone who shares advice, timelines, and encouragement here. Wishing good news soon to everyone still waiting!
