Hi just looking for advice or peace of mind as my wife (60) and i (52) are needing some home improvements. We have payed off our mortgage and have £30k savings which my wife is opposed to using for improvements as she doesn't want to drain what we have which i understand.

So in theory bearing in mind our ages as well would it be wiser to just hit the savings and start rebuilding them or remortgage for approx 20-30k? Would appreciate any insight in order to appease my wife as to the best approach. Thank you.
