I am currently on Chrome v120 on my Windows 10 21H2 laptop. I switched to a portable version after v121 removed the downloads bar completely, including the launch option flag, switching to that hideous download bubble. That way it could never update myself. Of course, there's now other reasons besides that, like the god awful Chrome refresh, and MV2 extensions being killed. Don't have to worry about any of those being forced upon me.

While things have been working smoothly, some things are starting to break. Couple of my extensions no longer support the version, Google websites are saying my browser is no long supported (they still work tho), and most importantly, hardware-acceleration is extremely buggy, meaning I am forced to have it off for stability.

So I'm wondering if there's any browsers that still have the downloads bar, I don't care how minor it is, I require it. There's Thorium, which I actually have on an old laptop with Linux just to mess with the OS as I never used it before then, and it worked quite well. But there's tons of posts in this subreddit saying how awful it is, extremely unsafe, it had naughty furry art built-in one point (who the fuck cares), just do not use it period. So are there others is my question.
