1988 Progressive Republican Primaries: Round 1 (Wallace Country)

VOTE HERE!

The Progressive Republicans are at a standstill, between a road, a path, patches of grass, and a forest.

On March 8th, 1987, the Progressive Republicans & Republican-Democrats decided to both install a plan which would "let there be more freedom", and allowed candidates to run in "Caucuses" before in the general primary (Inspired by u/TWAAsucks**)***.*

The Reformation U.S. Caucus

Reformation U.S. Caucus

Founded by Ultra-Conservatives, Neocons, Neoliberals, and Christians, the Reformation U.S. Caucus in the Progressive Republican Party, is obviously Christian, and Right-leaning. It's contenders (images are in the poll) are Reverend Pat Robertson, Reverend Fred Rogers, and Pastor Jerry Falwell.

The Liberty! For All Caucus

Patriots Unite Caucus

Common Sense Caucus

Common Sense Caucus

Founded by Country Club Republicans, the laborers, the Northern Republicans, the Liberal Republicans, you name it. Bush, Speaker of the House Jack Kemp, Senate Leader Robert J. Dole, and Former Delaware Governor Pierre "Pete" du Pont.

CONGRESS:

No major party (Republican-Democrats or Progressive Republicans) have a majority, with the Progressive Republicans & Republican-Democrats (under Mo Udall) having the same amount of representatives in their parties. Also, the People's Coalition (under Dennis Kucinich) with about 7-8 seats, the Libertarians (under Ron Paul) with 3-4 seats, and the Conservatives with 1-2 seats, with Jack Kemp staying as Speaker.

Jack Kemp surprised after being re-elected as Speaker, 1987.

SENATE:

The Progressive Republicans barely lost the Senate, while winning the overall popular vote. They got a few new senators, with Kit Bond, Jim Santini, Jim Broyhill, and Jeremiah Denton. The Republican-Democrats gained with Bob Graham, (Former Senate Majority Leader Herman Talmadge decided to not run, so Wyche Fowler won in Georgia), Brock Adams, Kent Conrad, Michael Barnes. In South Dakota, McGovern was replaced by George V. Cunningham, but was primaried by Tom Daschle, and Daschle won the primary, but also won the general senate election, with Claiborne Pell becoming the new Republican-Democratic Senate Leader.

Claiborne Pell announcing he is the newest Republican-Dem. Senate Leader, 1987.

GUBERNATORIAL:

(Notable Races Only!) In Texas, Former Governor Bill Clements beat Governor Mark White, In Pennsylvania, Bob Casey beat Governor Bill Scranton III, In Florida, Bob Graham was replaced by Bob Martinez, Charles Graddick won against H. Guy Hunt in Alabama, and Mario Cuomo obviously won re-election in New York. (Some other races include Al Gore winning in Tennessee, Carroll Campbell winning in South Carolina, and Evan Mecham winning in Arizona.)

Newsweek Article in 1986 About Some of Mario Cuomo's Policies.

Also, there are 2 new Supreme Court Justices, being Abner Mikva & Guido Calabresi, since the referendum was above 60% in favor.

Look at the man, the man who defended our country! The Savior of Gettysburg! If we had lost this battle, our Sacred Union may not exist or be unstable. This man, saved us all! And we repay him, with thy presidency! This man saved America. All the other candidates aren't as good, as they haven't done as much for the Union as he has!

Winfield Scott Hancock, forever!
