Q1 Canadian Real Estate Infographic [OC]

This design is a toss-up between a report/data viz-only style, but I wanted to toss it over here in case anyone is interested.

Data is from the Canadian Real Estate Association. As a realtor, I have access to the dataset, which, while not complete, is about as accurate as they come.

Ideation and layout were generated with ChatGPT, as were the graphics. I used Gemini to get feedback on layout and design as well as generate some ideas.

The design is about 20-30 hours of work between Tableau and Illustrator for layouts. I am happy to talk about process and insights if anyone wants as well. It is an extremely interesting time for Canadian real estate. Those from abroad may comment on how expensive it is relative to incomes.

Q1 2026 Canadian Real Estate Infographic - Edmonton one to follow later this week

Sorry about the delay on this stuff lately. I have been finding it tough, and life has been busy. Real estate definitely has been slower, and if that continues, I should be able to create content a little more regularly, a mixed blessing but something I am not too terribly upset about.

I am currently downloading the data for the Edmonton April 2026 sales, and I will likely use the same template with small changes here or there.

A quick general analysis is that Edmonton, as usual, is simply behind the rest of Canada. We are slower to react and to adjust, which in a way keeps our market more stable. I will say we will see how April was, but for the most part, the market is cooling, with plenty of people still buying and just a handful more selling.
