To the gent who was running behind me this morning,
Getting my last couple of miles in at The Central Park loop this morning (in preparation for the Brooklyn Half). For some reason, I wasn’t really feeling it today but still forced myself to go. Up cat hill, up Harlem hill -I noticed you here I think?
Anyways, at the start of the three sisters I was in my head and just thinking to just take a walk break and chill the rest of the way. But there it was again, your shadow -I could see from my periphery getting closer. I turned it into a game in my head and said to myself keep going because I’m going to need this same attitude come battle pass hill. You got me out of my funk and I floored it my last mile.
Whoever you are, you’ll probably never see this but I just want to say thank you. You gave me a head nod and smile as you passed me by at the end of my run and I gave you a thumbs up.
