I’ve had a crush on my mechanic for the past 3 years. 😂 I only see him when my car needs work done, but honestly oil changes are the highlight of my month at this point.
Over time he’s given me a lot of attentive eye contact, remembers details about me like my full name and what I drive, and has slowly started talking to me more beyond just my car. One time I called the shop and he recognized me just from my voice, said my full first and last name, and immediately asked if I still had my Jeep Renegade. He’s also asked me some personal questions recently about buying my first house and moving.
But at the same time… he hasn’t really pursued anything outside of work. He accepted my Facebook friend request but has never messaged me, barely watches my stories, and there’s never been direct flirting. I have noticed he fixes/touches his hair sometimes when I’m around though.
I genuinely can’t tell if this is just a friendly mechanic/customer relationship where we’ve gotten familiar over the years, or if there could actually be some interest there. I’ve thought about asking him out, but I’ve always been told women shouldn’t make the first move, so now I’m overthinking everything. 😅
