Hello!
Current position;
PPOR Value - $1.3m
PPOR debt - $920k
Offset - $52k
Investment property value - $520k
Investment property debt - $356k
Negatively geared at about $5k per year before tax benefits
VDHG - $106k portfolio, contributing $400 p/f
Household income $7500 per fortnight
Super - contributing $200 p/f as a tax deduction
We're a 34 y/o couple, no kids. Will not be having kids - no thanks.
We'd like to be debt free on our PPOR by age 40 by selling our investments (property and VDHG). Perhaps this is too ambitious, but even if we are in a position where we have $100k debt by that time, we'd be happy. Our goal isn't too be "rich" but rather enjoy life with lots of overseas travels.
With the interest rate rises, our offset and savings just aren't increasing. We're leaning towards selling the VDHG now and redirecting the ongoing purchases of this to the offset instead.
Does this make sense or should we ride out this wave and keep everything?
