Will be flying from AVL to MCO in two weeks. For the past ten years I've driven 10 hrs each way for trips to Orlando every year, but with the cost of a rental car + gas + hotel half way if needed being the same as a 90 minute flight + ride to hotel, I'm ready to face the fear and anxiety.

I've been on ten flights, but all before I was 15 and younger. I never liked it but a more intense fear was developed after and I'm not sure why. Several nightmares about flying made it worse over the years (it's a combo of fear of heights, fear of "drops" and fear of well, crashing) . But both flights will be with Allegiant on a Airbus 320 which I've found a sliver of solace reading about how safe they are.

I'll definitely be on edge the entire day until the flight has landed but with help from some liquid courage, I think I'll be ready.
