As requested: A quick showcase of my POLA 115 mouse

Thanks for all the interest in my previous post! A lot of you asked to see the POLA 115 mouse, so here it is.

Thanks for the wait! Here are the core specs for those who missed the previous discussion:

  • Weight: < 60g (Extremely lightweight for its size)
  • Switches: Custom 20M silent high-rebound micro-switches (Great tactility without the noise!)
  • Skates: XXXL PTFE dual-layer skates, covering >40% of the bottom for a super smooth glide.
  • Battery: 800mAh (Long-lasting performance).
  • Fly:~15s

Feel free to ask any questions about the glide or the click feel!

Better than MagSpeed? My custom scroll tech: 15s free-spin, zero recoil, and no manual toggle,Much lighter.

It’s actually a brand new mechanism! Unlike Logi:

  1. No toggle switch needed (unlike G502 Master anywhere).
  2. No recoil/back-scrolling when it stops (unlike MagSpeed).
  3. Lighter mass but still hits a 15s+ spin.

Keep an eye out for my post with the 3D-printed results—you'll see the difference immediately.

I hated scroll wheel recoil, so I spent a year making my own mechanism.

Here is the Infinite scroll test link: POLA 115 mouse Infinite Scroll

I’ve always loved the idea of infinite scrolling, but MagSpeed never felt quite right to me. The weight, the magnetic "clunk," and especially that annoying bounce-back (recoil) when you stop scrolling drove me crazy.

So, I decided to take a completely different technical route. After a year of prototyping, here is the result:

How it’s different from MagSpeed:

  • Zero Recoil: It stops exactly where you want it. No ghost scrolling, no bouncing back.
  • No "Mode Switching": You don't need to press a button to switch. Scroll slowly for crisp tactile clicks; flick it for a 15s free-spin. It's all based on the force of your finger.
  • Weight: Much lighter than traditional electromagnetic wheels, making it actually viable for lightweight mouse builds.

It’s been a long journey from the first 3D prints to the current PCB (check the photos).

I'd love to hear what you guys think about the mechanism or answer any technical questions!
