I’m an Irish intern who didn’t get onto the scheme I wanted and didn’t get any standalone posts either.

I’m applying to other standalones with no luck. I’m starting to just email heads of department directly but I’m wondering would this be typical of this time of year? I’ve heard registrars saying that most jobs open up in June and there’s a lot of movement. I know there’s a lot of chat about shortage of standalones this year etc but how much of this panic is just what happens every year before July?
