I hope this post doesn't come off as whiny or ungrateful, I apologize if it does. I'm really depressed and maybe a little bit suicidal. I graduated a year ago and I've been unable to find a sustainable job. I got a job about a month after I graduated but it did not pay at all so I did it only for experience. I worked this job until 3 months ago full-time 40 hours a week with no pay. While I was in college, I also worked an unpaid summer internship and contributed to some open source projects. I am just exhausted. I hate to be ungrateful or sound entitled but I truly don't need a 6 figure job or a high paying job. I just want a job to at least meet my basic needs. I've been applying for jobs since I left my last job but I'm starting to become really hopeless. I've never gotten money for any work I've ever done and I am not in this industry for the money whatsoever but I can barely function. I truly do love the work I get to do but it's truly so hard at this point. I'm just so exhausted and have no motivation to do anything anymore. If I do not find a paying role within a year, I think I give up entirely (I don't feel like trying to live). I'm not willing to pivot to a different field at this point because I've done so much work and I feel like it'd be all a waste. I am so drained I don't feel like I can do the work to change to a different industry. I apologize if this sounds entitled, I just appreciate anyone listening to this. I want to know if anyone is struggling with this too. I am unsure if maybe I'm not talented enough for this industry either.
