Pedophiles...?
Looking at the rate at which children are disappearing, only to be found dead and/or mutilated, really makes me think.
Has our regard for the dignity of human life collapsed, or have we turned into animals? Maybe it is both.
All human beings are equally important, but taking the life of an innocent child is unforgivable.
What is even more terrifying is that the perpetrators are often the very people who should be safe havens for these innocent souls. They are fathers, mothers, uncles, grandparents, teachers.
Consider the Nyeri incident: a seven-year-old child, violated, murdered, and discarded by someone she never imagined could hurt her.
These are the people who should be protecting them.
In whose hands are our children safe?
What could a child have done to deserve such cruelty? An innocent soul, walking calmly to the slaughterhouse like a lamb, with no idea that the slaughterer is someone they trust.
This is deeply disheartening.
We cannot continue to stay silent as if everything is normal. It is time to confront this issue head-on.
The perpetrators should and must be brought to justice.
We must work together to uproot these predators and reassure our children that they are safe.
