I'm going to be working in New York this summer as an intern at a marketing agency that works closely with Sony music artists. However, it's part-time, and I will likely have lots of extra time where I could pick up another job. I am interested in working at a music label this summer to get my first experience at one. I study marketing and am interested in working in brand partnerships and marketing

I don't care if it's paid or unpaid, I really just need to start getting some experience at a label. What are some small/mid-size independent labels in the area I should look into reaching out to?

okay long story short I found this place on facebook market (where everyone has been telling me to look) for sublease apartment at 239 East 84th Street Apt 3F New York, NY 10028. The person's profile checked out and even linked to his attorney work account where I can see on google real reviews of the guy and ultimately just all his work stuff and information checked out. The website says his law practices is based out of California but his Facebook shows he lives in Manhattan. (Is this a red flag?)

The place is $2150 a month utilies included, tiny studio. He sets up a date for an in person viewing for this saturday May 1st. He sends a tenant application for me to fill out and send (dosen't ask for any finacial information or anything just my email credit score and a photo id etc). Here's why I'm perplexed if its a scam or not.

The document says the landlord is Oliver Williams. I do some digging (people have been trying to scam me left and right since my sublet journey so I just like to be extra detective). I look up the property on a landlord finder website, and it shows the building owner is Fred Mengoni. I found a reddit thread from 2 years ago on this guy turns out he owned many buildings in new york but died, and now a Stephanie Tiboris and another name i forgot are over the buildings. I find Stephanie on Street Easy and email her asking if there is an Oliver Williams over this building and she says its a Scam.

So now im like damn is this genuinely a scam... this must be a pretty elaborate ass scam man. Cause the tour date was set up for this weekend, he hasn't asked me to send any money etc. He said during the in-person tour we would discuss the sublease agreement and potentially sign it and give me the keys once I paid first month and the refundable deposit.

Am I being scammed and cease contact with him or go to the in person tour and see if its real? (I wouldn't be going alone I have a family member going with me) I am from Mississippi and new to this whole new york subletting thing so if i sound stupid sorry ive never done this

Also if ANY REAL HUMAN is short term/summer subletting a studio or 2b 2b within a 1700-2200 range please let me know. I have reached out to over 5o something people and have been met with so many scammers I am exhausted and time is ticking before i need to move to new york may 30th.
