Help with determining if hydrangeas are new wood or old wood

Hello,

I planted two types of hydrangeas last year but can’t remember what kind. It looks like the one blooms on old wood and the other on new wood, is that correct? Do I need to do anything to the one that looks like sticks? I am in Michigan.
