Hi everyone,
I’m in a bit of a stressful situation and wanted some advice from people who might’ve dealt with something similar.
I’ve been using an offshore online gambling site recently (not UK licensed). At first everything seemed normal — I deposited, played, and actually managed to win some money. I even successfully withdrew a portion of it to my Monzo account, and used some of those winnings for normal stuff like bills and Amazon purchases.
After that, I deposited again (both from my bank card and credit card) and kept playing. This is where things started going wrong.
Now the site has started:
Repeatedly rejecting my withdrawal requests
Freezing games mid-use
Making my balance inaccessible
And basically preventing me from cashing out what I had left
It feels like I can’t access my own funds anymore, and support is either ignoring me or giving vague responses.
I’ve taken screenshots of everything — withdrawal attempts, error messages, account balance, etc.
I’m with Monzo and I’m considering raising a chargeback, but I’m unsure what my chances actually are. I know gambling disputes are usually difficult, especially since some of the deposits were technically “authorised”, but this feels more like I’m being blocked from accessing my funds entirely rather than just losing bets.
Has anyone dealt with something similar with Monzo or another UK bank?
Do chargebacks ever work in cases where an offshore site is refusing withdrawals like this?
Any advice would really help because I’m not sure what my next step should be.
