Hi everyone,

I’m currently awaiting my appointment as a Military Firefighter here in Brazil. As I prepare for active duty, I’m looking for a reliable camera to capture POV footage of both my professional training and my daily routine.

I’ve been looking at the DJI Osmo Nano, but I have some specific concerns regarding its performance in "the line of fire":

Heat Resistance: While I know no consumer camera is "fireproof," how does the Nano handle high ambient temperatures before shutting down?

Abrasion & Impact: Firefighting is rough. Between forced entries and crawling, I’m worried about the modular/magnetic design. Does it stay secure on a helmet?

Water Resistance: It needs to withstand heavy spray from hoses and potentially some aquatic rescue scenarios.

The "Everyday" Factor:

Beyond the fire service, I need a camera that is discreet, fast, and practical. I want to capture as much of my daily life as possible—studying, commuting, and routine activities—without the friction of a bulky setup. I need something small that I can just "point and shoot" whenever something interesting happens.

My dilemma: I love the portability and "pocket-friendliness" of the Nano for my lifestyle, but I’m wondering if I should pivot to something more "tank-like" like the Osmo Action 5 Pro to ensure it survives the job.

For those of you who record your shifts but also use your gear for personal vlogging, does the Nano bridge that gap? Or will the thermal limitations and mounting system be a dealbreaker for professional use?

Thanks in advance for the help!
