About 2 years ago my mother asked me if I wanted to be an authorized user on her Citi Bank credit card. I refused at the time. Apparently she did so anyways and I found out last year. She has refused to remove me when I have asked, and has refused to give me any way to do it myself.
I let it go until I hopped on a credit app for the first time finding out my credit score was somehow 570, and there was a card with almost 20k on it. Then earlier today I got a call from a company that thought I was her.
I called the Citi Bank number, and tried to ask them to remove me as an authorized user, however they refused as no verification worked. I am left to guess my mother gave some other number for me?
I am unsure what I can do. Or why my mother refuses to let me separate from her credit. She’s always been weird trying to give me poisoned gifts so. Would appreciate any advice or insight.
