So I've been out of teaching for a year now (taught art for 2 years straight out of college), and something I've noticed is I don't feel like I'm constantly "in trouble" anymore? I have a part-time job related to art and while it doesn't pay nearly as much as teaching did, I've ACTIVELY noticed a change in my mental health. I feel like I'm my own person/adult again and I feel like being as young as I was (graduated college 22 and just turned 25), I just couldn't handle being told that my ENTIRE life had to revolve around this new and scary career.

Maybe I just had bad school placements but I'm curious to know if anyone who's leaving or left education has also noticed that feeling of "oh God what's gonna go wrong next?" lmao
