Looking for resourcers in the 7... Kf8 French Winaner
As my main defense against 1. e5 is the French Defense, and I play the Winawer aganst 3. Nc3, I am looking for any bibliography (that is useful to an intermediate player around 1600 FIDE) in which the author explains the main ideas of 7... Kf8 in the poisoned pawn variation.
For reference, the line goes as:
- e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. e5 c5 6. a3 Bxc3+ 6. bxc3 Ne7 7. Qg4 Kf8!?
I know the main responses against 7.Qg4 are 7... Qc7 and 7... O-O. And my thoughts are the former looks too sharp (opposite-side castling and two pawn sacrifices) while the latter seems completely mad, castling into the attack of white's forces. Then, 7... Kf8 seemed very interesting for that reason (defends the pawn at g6, while the closed center keeps the black king relatively safe, but obvious problems of development, mainly the rook at h8).
I've looked into some books, but was wondering if anyone has suggestions for good material about this line, I have a tournament coming up next month and this is the main gap in my repertoire.
