Hi all, I’m finally pulling the trigger on getting a vasectomy. Currently in the process of all the medical examinations and after spending some time on this subreddit, it seems like most doctors will use local anesthesia vs general unless there’s some specific reason as to why the guy would need to be knocked out. I’ve had 2 great consultations with a doctor I found and the whole process has been going smoothly. Feeling very comfortable and confident. One of the first questions I asked was what kind anesthesia they use for the procedure and they use general.

Im not complaining because I feel some kind of way being awake while a sharp object is cutting into my sack! But wanted to hear about those who went under what your experience was like and if there are any reasons why I might want to consider local anesthesia instead of general.
