If I was to mix perlite and aquarium/decorative gravel for a semi hydro setup for an alocasia utilizing fert water, could I do the glass vessel setup like I often see people do with leca? Or would that only work with a self-wicking nesting pot situation? Ive never done semi hydro and leca or pon isnt readily available so trying to find a short cut (if possible). I got a black velvet (according to google image search) today marked down that has two plants in it. So id like to keep one in soil and do one semi hydo (:
