Just got an EV and had assumed I'd granny charge it whenever I visited family, bought the correct extension cable and everything.

Then I started reading that a house's wiring might not be up to the job!

So how can I work this? If I plug in and check the temp of the socket (by hand) every 15 minutes for an hour and then once an hour for a couple more (then off to bed)... Would that indicate that the socket can be used to charge the car safely?
