The climb was amazing in both games
Personally, my favorite moment in both games was the abyss climb. I mean the abyss climb is such a great parallel in both games. I don't know whether or not it was intentional but I do know that it was absolutely amazing in both games.
By "abyss climb in the original hk" I mean the memory sequence and the little cutscene at the top.
For me in the original hk it was an amazing moment because it heavily reinforced the story. We get very little information about the hollow knight and seeing how the pale king chose our brother over us was just a great moment that had me go "oh damn".
In silksong, when the escape sequence starts you feel the thrill. It isn't heavily tied to the story (escaping from the abyss) but it was an exceptional moment and really tested you. And I also especially loved the final silk soar. Like damn you know it's a masterpiece when the escape sequence is so cinematic.
In both games the abyss climb is more of a late game event so once you've gotten so far into game, team cherry hitting us with the climb felt absolutely insane. There were a lot of good moments in both games but the climbs were basically just a summary of the game and it's tone. For example hollow knight had a dead and gloomy climb and silksong had a fast-paced, action filled climb.
It just goes to show that team cherry are the absolute best. Fight me
