My wife and I live in a home first constructed in the 1950's and have since been working to finish the basement. However, we're stumped on what to do with this gap. The upper and lower walls both run along the metal support beam running along the home, but they aren't even with each other, so we can't simply drywall/smooth over it... There's about a 5/8in difference between them. Any advice is appreciated!
